The inaugural NASBTT (National Association of School Based Teacher Trainers) Awards, were held at the Union Jack Club in London on 11th July 2019. They were launched to celebrate excellence in school-based teacher education and recognise the exceptionally hard-working and talented professionals involved in driving the profession.
The awards were open to any member of staff from any member organisation. An expert judging panel drew up a shortlist for each award category and the winners were announced at the NASBTT Awards Evening.
Our own Business Manager, Cathy Scott, was nominated by our SCITT Director for the Administrator of the Year category. This category recognises exceptional administrators who go above and beyond in ensuring the smooth running and success of school-based provision.
“Whilst I did not win the overall category, it was a great honour to be recognised for my efforts and I truly appreciate all the positive comments I have received from everyone”.
Cathy Scott, SCITT Business Manager
NASBTT Executive Director Emma Hollis said: “The past 12 months have already seen huge celebrations in the ITT sector, with 99% of provision now rated either good or outstanding and a staggering 43% of SCITT provision rated outstanding, so in many ways the excellence of school-based teacher education sector speaks for itself. However, what the NASBTT Awards 2019 are fundamentally about is recognising the exceptionally hard-working and talented professionals behind the statistics and data.
We are proud to launch our annual awards and look forward to receiving nominations from members for the seven categories. We are also excited to present an Outstanding Contribution award on the evening, with the individual recipient to be decided by the NASBTT central team.”
